All persons desiring to be a coach must meet the following criteria prior to applying for a coaching position within any league:
Head Coach applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Assistant Coach applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Coach applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED certificate.
Applicant must complete an SDYFCC coaching application.
Applicants are subject to interview by Board of Directors in league they are applying to.
ALL Coaches must have a current "LIVE" CPR and First Aid card
(Online certification is allowed 2023).
Football applicants must complete USA Football Online Training Course (Level 1 minimum). (http://usafootball.com/coaching-education).
Cheer applicants must complete YCADA Online Training Course (Level 1 minimum).
All coaches must complete the AYF/AYC Human Kinetics New or Returning Coach Course.
All coaches must complete the CDC Heads Up Concussion Training Course.
All applicants will be subject to a background check.
All applicants will be required to submit requested information requested by a "background check service' to conduct a local, sex-offenders, and nation-wide criminal history check.
All Team Moms / Board Members / other Volunteers who will be on the field or involved in either Football or Cheer practices, games, competitions, etc. must have completed the background check.
Please keep in mind that all trainings involved are for the safety of our athletes! In no way are these requirements a punishment. They are meant to be used as educational tools to give our kids the safest and most fun experience possible!
